It's the latest addition to the Cricut family and available to buy now

Cricut machines have become a firm favourite with crafters across the world thanks to their ability to expertly cut, write, draw and press onto so many different materials.

And now Cricut have released a new machine to get excited about – the Cricut Joy Xtra. It's bigger than the original Cricut Joy, but not as large as fellow machines Cricut Explore 3 and Cricut Maker 3. It's available to buy now and we have all the details.

It's a great choice of Cricut machine if you'd like to take on bigger projects than the original Cricut Joy can handle, while still being a less expensive option than the Cricut Explore 3 and Cricut Maker 3.

Like the original Cricut Joy, the Cricut Joy Xtra cuts, writes, draws and foils to create your favourite craft projects.

It also works with your home printer to print and cut full-colour images. It's the perfect companion to make craft projects like greetings cards, stickers and labels and customised T shirts and totes.

The Cricut Joy Xtra is compatible with over 50 materials, including the new A4 printables range from Cricut, which includes waterproof stickers.

The Cricut Joy Xtra is available to buy from the Cricut website for £219.99.

An exclusive bundle including a Cricut Joy Xtra machine and starter materials is available to buy from Hobbycraft for £250.

This nifty little machine can do all kinds of clever things, giving you lots of opportunities to flex your crafting muscles.

The Cricut Joy Xtra has the amazing function of being able to make custom print and cut stickers in whatever designs you can think up. You simply design you sticker page on the Design Space software, select the print and cut option, print your design onto sticker paper using a normal inkjet printer and then once the ink is fully dry, place it on your cutting mat and let the machine work its magic

We love these ones from @avantimorocha_1 on Instagram – they're great to add to notebooks and bullet journals.

One of the best things about having a Cricut machine is that you can create all sorts of personalised pieces for yourself or to give as gifts.

There are lots of simple yet effective monogram style designs you can make in self adhesive vinyl or HTV to add a personal touch to everyday items. These key rings from @lovelyartpieces on Instagram make a beautiful stocking filler for Christmas.

The Cricut Joy Xtra makes quick work of cutting cardstock, and one of the most popular paper crafts to use any Cricut machine for is cake toppers. Decorating for birthdays and celebrations is always good fun but being able to make a party that bit more personalised can make all the difference.

Making things like cupcake toppers and cake banners is a super sweet craft that anyone can try – like these ones from @prettylittleparties_ on Instagram.

Cricut and Christmas crafting go hand in hand! There are so many ideas online for fun DIY decorations you can make for each season and holiday, and some of the most impressive ones are made with the help of a trusty Cricut machine.

Whether you're using it to cut paper for a handmade greetings card or vinyl to go on a personalised decoration to gift to a loved one, the Cricut Joy Xtra will have your home dressed up for the holidays in no time at all. These cute baubles from @jennifer.maker on Instagram would make the perfect addition to any Christmas tree.

One of the advantages of the Cricut Joy Xtra over the original Cricut Joy is that it allows you to work on larger projects.

While the original Cricut Joy allows for cutting and printing on materials up to 5.5 inches, the Cricut Joy Xtra's cutting area is 8.5 inches.

Yes, certain Cricut Joy materials and tools are compatible with a Cricut Joy Xtra machine. You can use Cricut Joy pens, blades, foil tool and cards on the new Cricut Joy Xtra.
